Native ceremonies, culture & nature exploration |
Embark on a profound exploration of the spiritual heartlands of the Incas with our Shamanic Expedition. Discover the awe-inspiring Sacsayhuaman, the Temple of the Sun, and the mystical depths of the Peruvian Amazon.
This transformative journey to the Amazon is a sacred pilgrimage back to nature, a return to the roots that bind us all. Immerse yourself in the wisdom of the jungle as you learn about the properties of medicinal plants cherished by humanity for generations. More than a mere adventure, this shamanic journey serves as a powerful tool for spiritual growth and personal healing.
After a nourishing breakfast, we venture to the remarkable Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park,
also known as the "House of the Sun." This site comprises temples, palaces, and astronomical
observatories, with walls constructed from stones weighing up to 130 tons each, positioned with
extraordinary precision. Your guide will introduce you to key principles of Andean philosophy,
laying a foundation for the journey ahead. The day includes a gratitude ceremony to Pacha Mama
or Mother Earth.
Overnight stay in Cusco (B/BL).
An early start from your Cusco hotel takes you through the majestic Andean mountains, passing
charming communities like Paucartambo and Ninamarca, where pre-Inca chullpas of the LUPACAS
culture stand. Ascending the final mountain to Acjanaco, the entrance to MANU NATIONAL PARK,
we embark on a 6.5 km hike (approximately 3 hours) along the old Inka trail to the Amazon.
Descending into the lush cloud forest, home to diverse flora and fauna, we encounter epiphytes,
orchids, and bromeliads. Continuing by bus, we reach our lodge in Sapan Sachayoq in the
afternoon. Here, we explore the forest in search of the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, toucans,
trogons, quetzals, monkeys, and, with luck, the South American spectacled bear.
Overnight in a cloud forest lodge (BL/D)
After breakfast, a 2 to 3 -hour exploration hik e in a pristine forest takes us to the Qoyachayoq waterfall, offering opportunities to spot monkeys, hummingbirds, and other species. Later, we drive to the Patria and Pilcopata valley. In the afternoon, we visit a hummingbird sanctuary, to observe numerous hummingbird species, King vultures, and groups of monkeys . The day concludes at the port of Atalaya, where a motorized boat takes us to a small Lodge. Free time to enjoy and relax in the lodge's hammocks. At night, the local shaman leads the Ayahuasca ceremony (Optional).
Overnight in a local lodge (B/L/D).
Morning exploration of the Amazon rainforest, witnessing giant trees and div erse wildlife,
including capuchin, woolly, and howler monkeys, as well as various birds. In the afternoon, we
visit the mammal clay lick to observe the nighttime activity of tapirs, peccaries, deer, and,
hopefully, jaguars. Note: Night walks are organized by our guides and will depend on the
weather conditions .
