ACTIVITIES

Culture, history, community stay, nature exploration & birdwatching

This journey will take you from the highlands around Lake Titicaca to Cusco and deep into the rainforest. You will experience both the cultural and ecological diversity of Peru. From the world’s largest tropical lake –the cradle of ancient cultures and home to the famous floating Uros islands- we will travel to the old religious and political capital of the Inca empire: the city of Cusco, with its imposing churches, temples, palaces and squares. We will also explore the fascinating archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman –once the great Inca “House of the Sun”- and the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas, with its impressive archaeological sites and splendid Andean scenery. From the enigmatic splendor of Machu Picchu, we will descend into the Amazon rainforest. In Tambopata National Reserve, one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth, we will spend four days in search of giant otters, macaws and the elusive jaguar.
